I still remember the first day, it was a mix of feelings and I couldn’t believe that this was really happening, at the same time, a feeling of freedom was taking care of me, the day was cloudily, but the sun came out to bless us and said: go ahead, you have a beautiful journey ahead!
The first days were not easy, at least for myself, I was not used to cycling a loaded bicycle and I was not used to cycling long distances, we started very slowly, cycling a few kilometers a day, Felippe had a lot of patience with me, he respected my time and my space, little by little your body gets used to it and it becomes natural.
The days can be difficult, there are bad days, like in the normal life, because if everything were perfect, it won’t be the natural cycle of life. There is a routine on a bike trip, you wake up, prepare your breakfast, set off the tent, organize the panniers, cycle, face a super steep hill and then on the downhill, you can feel the wind on your face, you have lunch, you admire nature, you find a place to camp, take a shower, prepare the dinner, plan about the next day and finally sleep. Of course, not all days are like this, but some are and this is part of a routine. It is not every day that we see incredible landscapes or that we are in that famous tourist spot, bad days serve for us to grow up and gives value to the good days.
The good days, it is hard to list all the beautiful things that have happens to us, but everything was special and it is in our hearts. We owe those beautiful memories, first to the people who crossed our journey, which made our trip even more special, the places and the landscapes came to add to all this.
We are not perfect, we are on this life to grow up, to learn, to change, we are in constant metamorphosis and it is important to have your mind open. On this trip we have been pass through 6 countries, each country has a different culture, belief, and religion, where we have to respect. Culturally speaking, we learned a lot during this year, it was an immersion within the culture of each country, this is a delightful way to learn, and once again, this was only possible because of the exchange we have with people. We like to teach a little bit about our culture as well, whenever possible, we cook a typical Brazilian dish, we tell a little bit about our history and how our country has evolved over the years.
Looking back and remembering everything, my heart is full of gratitude, this feeling that walks side by side with us, we are really grateful for everything we have lived so far, I do not know if one life will be enough to thanks for all of this, the only certainty we have today,is that we want to give it back in some way all that good energy we are receiving.
We are only at the beginning of this journey, we keep dreaming, so believe in your dreams, fight, think positive and spread the love!
